Jakob Freele (Writer and Owner)
I grew up in the small town of Penn Valley, California, with the privilege of having two unbelievable parents and an amazing little sister. Growing up, I always had a knack for learning and school, especially in math. Although I did not know that finance was my passion, the skills I had blended perfectly with the topic as I got older.
Sports have always been a massive part of my life. I did everything from play soccer to swimming on the local swim team at a young age. Once I began to attend Nevada Union high school, I still did not know what my sport of choice was. I played football, basketball, and baseball throughout the school year and football and baseball in the summer. In my senior year, I realized that baseball was not only the sport I was best at, but it was the one I loved the most. This led me to look for a college that I could play baseball.
I ended up at Northland College; a tiny, liberal arts, private school, in another small town of Ashland, Wisconsin. Traveling across the country was not an easy task. I made a few friends on my recruiting visit that ended up being some of my best friends for life, but I knew nobody other than that. Luckily, I had a baseball team of 40+ players that would grow to become my family. I decided I would major in business administration because I wanted to own a business after college.
As a baseball player, I was able to earn a starting spot in the outfield during my freshman year. I started over 130 games over my four years and became an all-conference player.
As a student, I graduated with honors and made the dean’s list every semester. I graduated in four years, lived out my dream of playing college baseball, and made lifelong friendships along the way.
After college, I moved to Boise, Idaho. I am now getting my MBA from Boise State University.
I still have aspirations of owning a business, but my real dream is to have financial freedom. My goal is to work hard to acquire assets to be able to retire at a young age. It is my dream to be able to support my family, parents, and all other loved ones, so that we can all live out our dreams.
